why do people keep making this kind of threads?

hi,
you know when you connect to a server theres allmost allways a little box with some text like: hi welcome to our server!,
when that text is white, i cant see it because of the background(grey picture of BL i think)...
now that text is in a small see through box, do i change this in my settings?
or else could the devs make this box a little darker...

if this can be done in my settings soz
